A knowledge of the land

A personal touch for a wine with character !

Bordeaux vineyards are steeped in history. No other vineyards offer such quality over a similar-sized area. Even though the range of their wines is endless, Bordeaux wines have something unique. The Bordeaux label is only awarded to those wines which have followed a series of strictly defined regulations. What makes them so unique however is that each wine has its own special character depending on the wine grower. Each wine grower adds his own experience, knowledge and personal touch and that's what makes all the difference.

Strict quality standards

Château Vrai Caillou produces Bordeaux Supérieur red wines, Bordeaux white and rosé and the Entre-Deux-Mers dry white. The Bordeaux Supérieur label covers all Bordeaux vineyards - a vast area with a wide range of soils. Complying with rigorous quality criteria, Bordeaux Supérieur wines are produced from older vines. The wines are left to mature for a year before they are put on the market. Stronger than the Bordeaux, with a wide range of complex aromas, the Bordeaux Supérieur is more robust and has an exceptional ageing potential. Produced using the same grape as the Bordeaux red, the Bordeaux rosé, due to its shorter maceration period, is light and delicate.

The Bordeaux white has a full, round flavour. And last but not least, the Entre-Deux-Mers is a dry white which bears the name of its area with pride, running between the Garonne and the Dordogne. Its freshness and intensity are particularly appealing.

DID YOU KNOW...?
The Bordeaux region is the largest wine-growing area in the world. The Bordeaux AOC (Appellation d'Origine Contrôleé - label guaranteeing the origin of wine) and Bordeaux Supérieur represent over half of the vineyards in the Gironde, with 4 different colours and 7 appellations (labels). So many reasons to appreciate a fine Bordeaux wine!

What makes Bordeaux wines so unique is that they are made using a mix of several grapes. The colour of each grape is the reason why there is such a variety of colours among the different labels.
